Hello, I’m Paarth Kumar, a determined Class 12th student from Ahmedabad, India, a city that thrives on its rich cultural diversity. This backdrop has profoundly influenced my character.My fascination for biology started at the early age of nine, through children’s encyclopaedias & pop-up books about organ systems in the body. Few years back, when my grandmother was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, it was a shock for me to discover that a doctor’s diagnosis didn’t always result in a cure. Throughout my academic studies, I tried to connect what I learned with real life, understanding how diseases impact human bodies, & looking for secrets that might reveal a cure. I was intrigued by possibility of CRISPR editing, and how genes influence our traits & can lead to diseases. Read More Resume

- Providing Social, Emotional, Behavioural, and Special Education Services in School (USA) : University of Colorado on Coursera July 2023: Learnt how social-emotional skills, mental health, and learning are related. It focused on how schools can support social-emotional learning and promote mental health for all students using Multi-Tiered System of Support ( MTSS). It emphasized the ways that schools think about mental health problems and provide services for students with disabilities, which is different than in medical or mental health settings. This was a good learning of how policy changes for Mental health if bought in education can impact students in our country.

On-site, one-day experience on how Malnourishment is dealt with in the Slums of Mumbai. Saw equipment used for determining whether a child is malnourished or not. Met with 3 children suffering from malnourishment and one survivor Kid, learnt about the steps involved in recognising, preventing and treating Malnutrition.

First project was "Understanding the nuances: navigating the mental health landscape of Indian adolescents in the covid-19 era". It was published in Journal of Population Therapeutics & Clinical Pharmacology in 2023, volume 30.
Second project was "A Comparative Study to Assess Eficacy and Safety of NAC Combination and NAC in Patients of Productive Cough with Acute Bronchitis". It was published in Indian Journal of Respiratory Care on 30 October 2023.
